Two of my favorite things - M.J. and The Civil Wars. So delightfully good.

The last few weeks since making the decision to move to Boston has been a complete blur. I have been busily trying to get every detail in place, while spending as much time with my family and friends as possible. Needless to say I have not had a whole lot of "me time" to really sit down and let everything soak in...and to be completely honest, that is probably a good thing.
I am already a bit of a mess. My emotions have taken the better of me this last week, every day trying to keep my tears to a minimum as I say goodbye to people that have done nothing but love and encourage me on a daily basis. I cannot thank you enough. The decision to move was not an easy one - I love the community of people I have surrounded myself with and I also am head over heels in love with Portland.Yet at the same time I know that what I have waiting for me in Boston will be an amazing and life changing experience, even if just for a few years.
A friend sent this short video to me this evening...I started balling. (Just to give you more insight of my lack of emotional control...I tear up while watching Folger Christmas commercials - you can only imagine my complete inability to hold back the tears when I have something real to be sad about.) And on that note. Enjoy.
see ya'll in Boston!

Sick days are no fun, but I am glad I have a marathon of Parks 'n Rec to keep me entertained.

Guess what this lady found on Netflix...The Wonder Years.
The best television show ever.
Kevin + Winnie. You rock my world.
"I'm young. I live in a house my father owns, in a bed my father bought. Nothing is mine...except my heart and my fears and my growing knowledge that not every road is gonna lead home anymore."
Any other favorite television "oldies"?

Okay, I realize that I have done this whole wedding trailer thing before but 618 Studios is just too good! It's not just that I was the maid of honour at their wedding, it's because their work is heartfelt and conveys everything and more you could ever want from a wedding. Two things: The venue is amazing. Condor's Nest Ranch...if you weren't so darn expensive I would book my non-existent wedding in a heartbeat. Numero dos. Succulents and jute runners. Enough said.

holly golightly.
This is by far one of my favorite songs. I grew up watching Breakfast at Tiffany's, not really understanding the whole story but loving it anyways. When I was old enough to catch on, I grew to appreciate it even more, especially this song. I swear, if someone sung this to me every day before I fell asleep I would be the happiest girl alive.

van gogh.
I have felt kind of ho-hum about movies lately, with the exception being Harry Potter (you know you are stoked too) and Midnight in Paris. This Woody Allen film was AMAZING. I walked out of the theater wanting to see it again and again. Such a wonderful collection of humor, art and dare I say it...sophistication. On top of all of that it is set in the beautiful Paris, France which is captured so elegantly you feel like you are walking the streets yourself. If only I was...
Marion Cotillard, you are drop dead gorgeous and so good in this film!
I could go on and on about the unique plot and how many wonderful characters grazed the screen...but I wouldn't want to ruin it for you!

Music always makes a weekend so much more....awesome.
dealbreaker.
I (along with many other women) have a serious girl crush on Tina Fey. There, I said it. The words that come out of her mouth make me laugh so hard my eyes tear up. I read her memoir Bossypants while on my trip to California, and I am not kidding, I was laughing out loud on the plane. Probably making the rest of the passengers think I was a little crazy. Oh well. I have the same reaction to 30 Rock...which I can watch over and over again and never tire of.
I was, and still am that girl whose reaction to anything that ends with "-man" is "don't you mean woman?!"
My mother always use to playfully tell my sister and I to lift something "like a man" or pull weeds "like a man." My response...."Do I look like a man?" Thank you Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin (who I'm told looks like my pops) for keeping my pinch of feminism alive.

Dear future husband,
I hope you like writing e-mails...
Pretty much the cutest thing ever.
P.S. I realize I have been posting a lot of videos this week, it will stop I promise. This one was just way too good to pass up.

as we go on.
So this past weekend I flew down to Orange County, California. Within 2 hours of getting off the plane, I was sitting next to a pool getting my tan on. I could not have been happier. Put together Disneyland, sushi, an Angels game, lounging by the pool, amazing art at the Getty in LA and my favorite people in the world (with margaritas in hand)...you get one happy Kelsey.
Angels game. beer + sports = big smile.
and my favorite...graduation.
mother, sister, father.
Daddio!
My California mom, a.k.a. Kelley's mom Stacey that I have adopted. Unfortunately my California Dad, Dennis didn't join in our photo fun!
only in Southern California would a church look like this...
(Please keep a watch out for the hacky sack)
Only a few more days and I will be returning for a wedding! Now all I have to decide is what to wear! argh!

Officially a graduate, and feeling nostalgic. I could listen to The Weepies over and over again. Saw them in concert last fall...if you have a chance to see them live, do it.
Can't Go Back Now has to be one of my favorites. They said they wrote it for their daughter when she first started to walk. Appropriate for her and just about everyone else of any age. Enjoy.
Pics tomorrow of my California adventure!

summa part deux
I realized today why summer is now on my mind 24/7...someones going to Southern California next week. Thats right! I'm going to get my graduation on (and beach, and fro yo and sushi and margarita(s)). Can you tell I am stoked!
Of course every good summer needs a soundtrack, so I begin with this new fav. Fleet Foxes - Grown Ocean. What is going to be on your summer soundtrack?

It's been a bit of a rough week in the heirloom residence, so I will be taking a bit of a longer break than expected. I leave you with this cheery clip...I have to admit I kind of forced myself to watch it (not really being in the mood) and ended up laughing so hard that I started to cramp up.
Of course that was after my fourth time in a row of watching Emma Stone sing a way too catchy song while also creating a stylish shower faux hawk.

cry baby cry.
I'm a little embarrassed to say this...but I'm a crier. I don't mean just one lonesome tear, I mean serious rainfall. Pretty much the entire ceremony of my best friend's wedding I was wiping tears off of my face. I couldn't stop. To make matters worse, this is the same friend who produces tear worthy wedding trailers every few weeks leaving me in a pool of my own tears.
I give you another example: I have now watched Steve + Tania's wedding trailer three times...and cried every single time. Starting about 5 seconds in. Is it bad to say I hope you do the same? 618 Studios is that good.
Take out that Kleenex, grab yourself a glass of wine and check out my talented friends.
