to hold.

I'm a little bit of a freak when it comes to organizing. Which really means that a trip to the Container Store is like a trip to the candy store if I were a five-year-old sugar addict. One of my weaknesses is boxes and such. I love to find things, to put things in. Comprende? It's weird I know, but how can you say no when the "containers" look like these gems?!

Why I need a cake box, who knows. Don't you think it would look
good somewhere in my kitchen though?

When I was younger I use to love the clean cut, everything looks the same style.
Not so much anymore. You have to jazz things up every once and awhile. And by jazz I mean add a little rust to your life. You will never go back.

20.7.11

person place or thing.

About a month ago I stumbled upon what may be my favorite shop in Portland. This little gem is located in southeast Portland, surrounded by yummy restaurant after restaurant. One might think Noun (their slogan: a person's place for things. so clever.) would be lost in the all the busyness but it has an extra special thing going for it. Saint Cupcake. Yep I said it. Cupcakes AND a beautiful selection of locally made jewellery, art, cards, and vintage delights.

My first purchase at Noun was a vintage button ring by Dana Robinson.
One for a birthday girl and one for moi.

I think my next visit to Noun, this little buddy will be coming home with me.

I have to say that I am a little bummed that I did not come up with this perfect pairing. Who can resist cupcakes and vintage "things."

5.4.11

love-aroid.

Clever title right? Yea not really but I couldn't come up with a better one so this will have to do. Teri Lyn Fisher has mucho photography talent, whether it be still or food photography. However I have a crush on her polaroid skills. Makes me want to break out my old polaroid and start clickin'. Nothing more satisfactory than the sound of a polaroid.

21.3.11

found.

Found Vintage Rentals is the greatest find (hehe) ever. A friend of mine discovered this lovely event decor and prop resource for weddings, photo shoots, and events. It has everything from candlesticks to bikes to couches. Anything and everything vintage you could possibly want. Unfortunately for us in the Northwest, Found Vintage is located in Orange County...maybe they could move up North soon?? Pretty please?

Pretty please with sugar on top?

18.2.11

unfinished.

I have realized lately while perusing through my "future home" file on my desktop, that I have a (slightly) unhealthy obsession with unfinished wood. See for yourself.

Yes...this is a nursery. What can I say, I love me some munchkins.

So many things could go in these drawers!!

honestly...this is about 10 images short of my entire unfinished wood collection.

17.2.11

train track love.

Love me some vintage posters. Makes me want to hop on a train and not look back.

19.1.11

comparison.

I am not a fashion expert by any means. I usually spice things up by adding boots or a scarf to my outfit...I know, I'm fearless. I came across these colour comparisons by Miss Moss and fell in love. Hopefully just the right amount of fashion and art to inspire my wardrobe.

17.1.11

dashing.

Don't get me wrong, I love today's fashions. Well at least some of them.
But how amazing does this man look? Why can't we bring back this dapper style?

13.1.11

type.

This may be a bad discovery for me, but I'm stoked. MyTypewriter specializes in classic portable and desktop typewriters from as early as the 1920's through the 1960's. May have to add some vintage typewriters to my collection. If only I had the space.

7.1.11

my favorite rooms.

For the moment...this is what I want my future home to look like.

lots of space for entertaining.

munchkin included.

Cary Grant + James Stewart will be frequent guests.

Love the use of old doors as a headboard.

So I realize that it looks as if my house will have a lot of white walls...this is most certainly not true. I despise white walls....I just like these hypothetical ones.
